Garlic Butter Steak Lightning Noodles

Ingredients (Serves 4):

  • For the Steak:
    • 1 lb (450g) flank steak, sirloin, or ribeye, thinly sliced
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • For the Noodles:
    • 8 oz (225g) ramen noodles, udon noodles, or spaghetti
    • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced (optional)
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (or hoisin sauce)
    • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
    • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
    • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
    • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Steak:
    • In a bowl, combine the sliced steak with soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of black pepper. Mix well and let marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Cook the Noodles:
    • Cook the noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Cook the Steak:
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
    • Add the marinated steak in a single layer and sear for 1-2 minutes per side until browned but not fully cooked. Remove the steak and set aside.
  4. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter.
    • Once the butter melts, add the minced garlic and ginger (if using). Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well.
  5. Combine Everything:
    • Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss to coat them in the garlic butter sauce.
    • Return the steak to the skillet and toss everything together for 1-2 minutes until the steak is fully cooked and heated through.
  6. Serve:
    • Transfer the noodles and steak to serving plates.
    • Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
    • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Customize the Noodles: Use your favorite noodles—ramen, udon, or even rice noodles work well.
  • Add Veggies: Toss in sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, or spinach for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • Spice It Up: Add more red pepper flakes or a drizzle of chili oil for extra heat.

This dish is quick, easy, and packed with bold flavors—perfect for satisfying your cravings in under 30 minutes!
